Eat Less, Move More

Losing weight and getting healthy isn't about the destination. The journey is for life. It never ends, and there IS no destination. This is my journey, two years in.

The Challenge: Met

I did it. I sported a bikini on Christmas Day! The challenge I’d tagged on Twitter as #XmasBikini2012 has been met.

Ok, not out in the snow or anything, obviously. I arrived at the parents’ house decked out in my gay apparel I had donned, but then changed into the bikini for a bit of show and tell.

The show was the easy part; the tell required math. Here’s the breakdown:

Starting weight: 261
Current weight: 176

Starting waist: 41″
Current waist: 33″

Starting gunt: 47″
Current gunt: 38.5″ (and soon to be gone – I hope!)

Starting hips: 47″
Current hips: 38.75″

Starting size: 22
Current size: 12

I feel like a rockstar! Seriously, breaking it down by the numbers I’ve been tracking in my food journal makes me see how far I’ve really come.

So now, A New Challenge

I still haven’t lost 100 lbs yet. I’ve been very slow – though consistent – with my weight loss. My gentleman friend bought me a spa certificate for Christmas. I shall make it my reward for losing the 100.

The spa is one of those outdoor Nordic deals, with hot and cold tubs built right into the landscape. It’s co-ed, so a bathing suit is required.

I shall go to the spa for my massage appointment by February 1, sporting my new bikini for the baths, having lost 100 lbs.

The tag on Twitter shall be #SpaDay2013

Here’s hoping I will have surpassed that 100, too!

February 1. Stay tuned, folks!
